The honest part
LeftStart is not yet a registered 501(c)(3). For now, gifts are received by our LLC, which means they are not tax-deductible — and we commit to putting at least 90% of every dollar (after card fees) directly into keeping the tutor free, with the numbers published plainly.
The plan from here: stand up the LeftStart Foundation, our official nonprofit, and move the books there — at which point giving becomes tax-deductible. We'd rather tell you all of that plainly than take a dollar under fine print.
What your gift does
